Our Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey have the opportunity to help end US complicity in the genocide Israel is committing against Palestinians. Please sign this letter to urge them to co-sponsor the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval that would block an approved $20 billion U.S. arms sale to Israel.
Many claim Israel’s war crimes are being carried out in the name of Jewish safety. We know Jews will be safe and free when Palestinians are safe and free.
We demand our Senators do everything in their power to stop the genocide now.

As Jews from across the state of Massachusetts, we write to urge you to co-sponsor and endorse the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval and call for an immediate arms embargo on the Israeli government. This resolution aims to block a potential U.S. weapons package sale to the Israeli military totaling approximately $20 billion.
We are grateful for your progressive leadership across many urgent issues. You have been more vocal than many of your Senate colleagues in calling for an end to the Israeli government’s attacks against Palestinians in Gaza - from signing a letter calling on President Biden to increase medical supplies to Gaza, to urging the President to “recognize a non militarized Palestinian state.”
Senators Warren and Markey, we appreciate the stances you have taken thus far but we need you to act now to stop the flow of weapons to Israel. That is the only way to save lives and end the Israeli government’s atrocities. We are counting on you to use your positions to save lives. There is no ceasefire nor hostage return without the U.S. ceasing to fund and arm Israel.
Over the last year the Israeli government has wiped out entire generations of Palestinian families. Reports indicate that the death toll by the end of this year will be approximately 335,000 or 15% of the population. The military has destroyed essential infrastructure and sacreds sites. The Israeli government’s siege is starving Palestinian children and has brought Gaza to the brink of a full-blown famine. Now, Israel has expanded its indiscriminate bombing campaign into Lebanon.
None of this would be possible without U.S. weapons. The U.S. government must end its complicity in the Israeli government’s war crimes and pressure the government to reach a ceasefire and hostage deal.
As Jews, we know what happens when dehumanization and violence against a group become normalized. We understand that the lesson of the Holocaust is that all human life is sacred. We will not accept the U.S. government continuing to fund and enable Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. To save lives, we must stop sending bombs and warplanes to the Israeli military.
We call on you to support the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders (VT), and to stop the flow of lethal weapons to the Israeli government.
