Massachusetts Voters Deserve Informed Choice: Let All Three Candidates for Governor Onto the Debate Stage
WBZ/CBS
There are three ballot-qualified candidates running for governor in Massachusetts - Andrea James (Independent), Maura Healy (D) and Mike Minogue (R). Massachusetts voters deserve to learn about all three candidates, so that we can make an informed choice on November 3rd.
WBZ/CBS's gubernatorial debate on October 8th is supposed to give Massachusetts voters a chance to hear from each candidate, and learn about their positions and their values. Except WBZ/CBS only invited two of the three candidates, and is refusing Andrea James a seat at the table. This means that we, the voters, aren't getting all the information we deserve. Excluding Andrea from the debate effectively erases her.
This isn't about partisanship, or even which candidate you ultimately decide has earned your vote. It's about transparency. It's about fairness. It's about democracy, which only works when voters are fully informed about their options.
Tell WBZ/CBS that Massachusetts voters deserve the chance to hear from all THREE candidates. We deserve transparent elections and fair reporting, not gatekeeping. Let Andrea debate!

The next governor of Massachusetts will make decisions that affect everyone in the commonwealth. Massachusetts voters deserve the chance to make informed decisions in an election that will shape our collective future.
The debate on October 8th is an important opportunity for Massachusetts voters to learn about the candidates for governor, their values, and their positions on the issues that affect us.
Except there are THREE ballot-qualified candidates running for governor: Andrea James (Independent), Maura Healy (D) and Mike Minogue (R). And you only invited Healy and Minogue to the debate.
By excluding Andrea from the debate stage, you are denying Massachusetts voters the information we need to make truly informed decisions. Regardless of who we ultimately decide has earned our vote, we deserve to know our options.
Denying Andrea a seat at the table harms the voters, because we rely on new media for fair reporting, and fair access to information. This gatekeeping just keeps voters in the dark. And we deserve better. Andrea deserves a chance to be heard, along with the other candidates. And we deserve transparency.
WBZ/CBS, I am calling on you to include all THREE ballot-qualified candidates in the debate. Let the voters decide for themselves. Let Andrea debate!
