We are writing to you in support of Maximus workers who went on strike for affordable healthcare and livable wages.

Maximus workers are fighting hard to organize for better pay and affordable healthcare, but Maximus isn’t giving families what they need to live.

Maximus workers are not paid enough. After taxes and other items are taken out of their checks, Maximus workers' take home pay is simply not enough to take care of a family, especially with the rising cost of living across the country. Meanwhile, Maximus CEO Bruce Caswell’s total compensation for 2021 was $7,906,006 or 208 times more than the median Maximus employee.

Maximus' healthcare plan is not affordable. For people making the base pay of $15 an hour, it takes TWO full months of working full time just to pay down the deductible for families. Workers shouldn't have to go into debt to pay for their medical care.

We hope you will meet with Maximus workers to discuss these important workplace issues and support their demands of fair wages and affordable healthcare. We will be watching carefully to make sure you do not violate federal laws by attempting to discipline or retaliate against these workers for exercising their right to take collective action.
