Demand a Fair Attendance Policy at MAXIMUS

MAXIMUS

MAXIMUS workers are demanding a fair attendance policy. Join us by adding your name.

The attendance policy at MAXIMUS has put many of our jobs in jeopardy, and forced us to make tough decisions. If we need to stay home when we are ill or to take care of sick family members, our jobs are at risk.

It shouldn’t be this way, especially when we dedicate our working hours to making sure Americans stay healthy by having access to affordable healthcare.

IMPORTANT NOTE! This is not a union authorization card to join any union and it is not a legal document. We're just real call center workers from MAXIMUS call centers around the country standing together.

On August 1st, 2019, Maximus implemented an attendance policy that as far as we can see puts hourly Maximus CCO workers at risk of unfair termination. The previous policy allowed employees to miss 40 hours within a 13-week span and allowed part-time employees to take earned vacation time. Under its new policy, Maximus can now terminate employees for missing 64 hours in a 12- month span. Employees must attend 22 consecutive shifts to earn back only 8 hours. Part-time employees earn but are not allowed to take vacation time, so any hours they take count against their 64 hours towards termination.

We, the undersigned, stand united for a fair attendance policy that allows us to care for ourselves and our families in times of need without having to risk our jobs. As CCO MAXIMUS staff who make this work possible, we demand a meeting to discuss this policy, and a voice in future policy decisions.
