Over 45 members of Congress own millions in defense contractor stocks. Clearly, this is an appalling conflict of interest.
We just got out of a 20-year war where defense contractors made a lot of money from the US government.
We can’t let the military-industrial complex easily thrive like this. Congress needs to ban members from owning personal stocks—especially defense contractor stocks.
That’s why Congress must pass the Ban Conflicted Trading Act to bar members of Congress and senior staff from buying and selling individual stocks.
