BECOME A GRASSROOTS CO-SIGNER OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY EXPANSION ACT

All members of Congress

Today, on Millionaires Day―the day that millionaires stop paying into Social Security―Senator Bernie Sanders, Kirsten Gillibrand, Jeff Merkley, and Cory Booker, and Representative Peter DeFazio are introducing the Social Security Expansion Act. This bill would increase Social Security benefits for all beneficiaries, increase the minimum benefit―helping low income workers stay out of poverty―and make the wealthy pay their fair share.

At a time of stagnant wages, rising income and wealth inequality, and skyrocketing health care and prescription drug costs, the American people are experiencing a retirement security crisis that must be immediately addressed by expanding Social Security―paid for by making the wealthy pay their fair share.

Congressional Republicans and their Wall Street donors are ramping up their misinformation campaign―claiming that we can’t afford to expand Social Security. But the reality is that we can’t afford not to.

Stand with our champions in Congress and become a grassroots co-signer of the Social Security Expansion Act today.

72% of Americans―including 51% of Republicans―support expanding, not cutting, Social Security by asking millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share. And yet, this week, millionaires stop paying into Social Security. That’s not right! We demand that Congress pass the Social Security Expansion Act that expands Social Security benefits for millions of Americans and pays for it by asking millionaires and billionaires to pay into Social Security on all of their income all year long, just like the rest of us.
