No Bees No Food
President Cauce
In recent years, beekeepers report that they’re losing on average 30% of all honeybee colonies each year. We rely on bees to pollinate 70% of food that most of us eat. This includes almonds, broccoli, coffee, chocolate and much more!
No bees means no food. So we're calling for action to ban bee-killing pesticides called neonics.
This starts with local action. So sign our petition to President Cauce calling on the University of Washington to ban bee-killing pesticides and become a bee-friendly campus.

In recent years, beekeepers report that they’re losing on average 30% of all honeybee colonies each year. We rely on bees to pollinate 70% of food that most of us eat. This includes almonds, broccoli, coffee, chocolate and much more!
One of the causes for bee death is a class of pesticides called neonics, which are sprayed on plants and crops and kill bees!
The University of Washington can help alleviate this problem by banning the use of neonics, and setting an example for the rest of the state on how to take care of our pollinators. I urge you to use your power to ban neonics on campus and designate the University of Washington as a bee-friendly campus.
