NO Developmental Courses in a CCRI J-Term & Involve the Faculty in Planning!

CCRI President Meghan Hughes

CCRI President Meghan Hughes led the school administration to unilaterally impose a "J-Term" (condensed three-week January session) without consulting faculty in the planning phase nor bargaining with their union. After significant pushback, including the CCRI Faculty Association filing an unfair labor practice, Hughes suspended the planned J-Term for January 2018.

  • CCRI faculty want to be involved in the planning process of any future J-Term design.
  • CCRI faculty want Hughes to exclude developmental courses from condensed J-Term sessions because it robs the student of the learning opportunity they deserve.

Communication among administration, faculty and staff is a crucial component to student success. Sign this petition to tell Meghan Hughes: No developmental courses in condensed J-Term sessions and to include the faculty in the planning process!

President Hughes,
You acknowledged the concerns the faculty had regarding your unilaterally imposed J-Term and suspended the session scheduled for January 2018.

Support your faculty and honor the collective bargaining agreement by including in any future J-Term planning process the very people who have dedicated their careers to student success.

Pledge today to exclude developmental courses from any condensed three-week sessions, like a J-term, because faculty agree it robs the student of the learning opportunity they deserve from CCRI.

Communication among administration, faculty and staff is a crucial component to student success. Demonstrate your commitment to CCRI's success by pledging to exclude developmental courses from condensed sessions and including the faculty in the future planning processes!
