NO MORE ‘NO-BID’ CONTRACTS IN RHODE ISLAND

Rhode Island Airport Corporation

Rhode Island is hurting. Coronavirus has shuttered many small businesses. Tax collections are down.

On June 11th, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation approved a food service lease for a Dunkin Donuts without putting the contract out to bid.

With so many small businesses hurting and looking for opportunity right now, why is TF Green handing out no-bid contracts?

With tax revenues down, why isn’t TF Green putting food vendor contracts out to bid to protect our tax dollars?

What happens to the workers that have worked for years at the existing Dunkin Donuts? Are they out of a job?

Rhode Island is better than this. We are asking TF Green to:

-PROTECT SMALL BUSINESS: Put all food service contracts out to bid so Rhode Island small businesses can have a fighting chance during and after Coronavirus

-PROTECT TAXPAYERS: Put all food service contracts out to bid so our taxes don’t go up

-PROTECT WORKERS: Make sure the existing food workers don’t get thrown out when the new no-bid contractor comes in
