Music is inseparable from the cultural legacy of the Bay Area and is a leading driver of both local and state economies. Yet, musicians in the Bay Area are paid less on average than they were in 1985, while all costs of living and working have skyrocketed.

If live music is to survive, things must change. While we work to ensure that venues, cities, and bookers respect the work that we do by paying a fair wage, we must first commit to respecting it ourselves.

By signing this pledge, I commit to not play any shows for free in order to create a fair standard for myself and my fellow musicians.
