ICE’s system of violence against our immigrant neighbors is supported by
contracts with local governments and businesses. We can work to
#AbolishICE on the local level by demanding an end to those contracts!
Since June, Movimiento Cosecha GR and GR Rapid Response to ICE has
been working to inform the public that the Kent County Sheriff’s
Department has a contract with ICE, by organizing various actions and
pressuring the Kent County Commission.
Now we are expanding the work to include a Grand Rapids business that
has a contract with ICE.
Edmark Development Company is the landlord for the Waters Center (an
ArtPrize venue), which rents office space to the Department of Homeland
Security (DHS). This is an ICE office!
We are inviting people to call or contact the Edmark Development
Company and say: “You should not rent space to DHS. You are complicit
with separating families! Do #NoBusinessWithICE!”
