Why now?

Andy Burnham has spent years saying the right things from the outside - as an MP, then as Mayor of Greater Manchester. He has stood with us at seminars, events and demanded justice. Within his maiden speech after recently becoming PM, he gave support to us and said he supported the creation of a special tribunal just as we have proposed. Now he is Prime Minister, he has the power to commission a Truth, Justice and Legacy Special Tribunal - to ensure nuclear test veterans finally get the answers and action they have been fighting for, for years.

The average nuclear test veteran is now in his late 80s or 90s. There isn't time for this to become another promise that quietly disappears once he's in office. We need this to be done properly and done quickly. We have waited too long already.
