Progressive voters hold the balance of power in the Peterborough riding, and our votes will decide who wins this election. Collective action is needed to avoid the harm that another Conservative term will cause our community.

Although many of us are not aligned with the Liberal party and their policies, we recognize that in this particular election, Emma Harrison is the only candidate with a viable path to defeating Michelle Ferrerri.

This pledge has been initiated by a group of nonpartisan progressive constituents. It is only one initial step in a longer, broad-term local strategy to advocate for democracy and proportional representation by:

• Amplifying the power of the progressive vote at all levels of government
• Fighting for electoral reform
• Organizing local polling
• Pushing all parties to take progressive action for people and the planet
• Taking action on issues of democracy
