We, the residents of Washington State’s 2nd Congressional District, call on you, Representative Larsen, to co-sponsor H.Res. 786 and take immediate steps to end Israel’s genocide of Palestinians by calling for:

1) a total and permanent ceasefire,
2) humanitarian aid allowed to enter Gaza,
3) an end to Israel's siege on Gaza,
4) no more weapons or funding to the Israeli military, and
5) a safe return of Israeli and Palestinian hostages, and release of all arbitrarily detained or unjustly imprisoned people.

Along with 64 members of Congress and 61% of American voters, we support a permanent ceasefire and we ask that you stand with your constituents. Calling for a ceasefire would also send a strong message that you support local Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim communities and stand against racial and religious profiling.

This is a genocide of Palestinian people in Gaza. As your office was recently informed by the Center for Constitutional Rights, there is potential legal liability for aiding and abetting genocide through congressional acts. Multiple Palestinian human rights organizations, along with Palestinians in Gaza and the U.S., have already filed a lawsuit against President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin for complicity in genocide. As our representative, we call on you to take immediate action to stop this genocide and end all U.S. complicity in Israel's violence.
