Petition to the Senate: No Lifetime Supreme Court Appointments Until We Know The Facts

The U.S. Senate

In these extraordinary circumstances -- including an incomplete record of the nominee’s relevant professional documents, and incomplete DOJ investigations into President Trump and alleged corruption of the electoral process -- we must urge the Senate to put the confirmation process on hold until a complete record of all that’s at stake is made public.

Please send a message to your senators today, and urge them to hit the brakes on the Supreme Court confirmation process -- no hearings, no votes until we know the facts.

I urge you to hit the brakes on the confirmation process of Supreme Court nominees, including Brett Kavanaugh.

The constitutional duty before you now, as a senator, is whether to provide or withhold consent to Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Your judgement would be better informed if rendered later, after more information about the multiple investigations into President Trump is made public. Disputes and controversies from those investigations could be headed to the Supreme Court.

Withholding advice and consent, pending further information, will best protect public confidence in the independence and integrity of the Supreme Court and the Senate.
