Preserve the Integrity of Louisville Neighborhoods Preventing a 2AM Bar Closing Time

LOUISVILLE METRO CITY COUNCIL

There is a petition to Louisville Metro Council proposed as a "temporary ordinance" to shut down bars at 2:00am from the current operating hours of 4:00am. Their reasoning is that this would be more safe hours for the people of Louisville.

More restrictions and disruptions to our Louisville businesses are not the answer.

In support of our beloved neighborhood bars and for the safety of their patrons and dense population of residents, please adopt a culture of help and support to STOP an ordinance "temporarily" restricting operating hours for serving alcohol from 4AM to 2AM.

There is a petition to Louisville Metro Council proposed as a "temporary ordinance" to shut down bars at 2:00am from the current operating hours of 4:00am. Their reasoning is that a reduction of 2 hours will reduce Louisville violence.

There is no supporting evidence that reduction in bar hours will reduce violence here in Louisville, KY.

There were sited articles and studies in this previous petition that were not even closely relevant proof or data to support radical change to local businesses. Topics were from outside the US and none of the articles were even from this decade.

In support of preserving the integrity of the neighborhood bars, businesses, and local residence; please do NOT enact further ordinance restrictions of bars operating hours.
