The Supreme Court blocked President Joe Biden from extending a moratorium on evictions during COVID-19. As cases continue to rise and the delta variant spreads through our communities, it’s not only irresponsible but inhumane to evict people from their homes.

The Supreme Court blocked President Joe Biden from extending a moratorium on evictions during COVID-19.

As cases continue to rise and the delta variant spreads through our communities, it’s not only irresponsible but inhumane to evict people from their homes. Evictions will only compound the dual public health and economic crises, and we should do everything in our power to keep families in their homes.

Extending the moratorium will keep people in their homes and halt unnecessary evictions that will exacerbate the spread of COVID-19 and stifle our economic recovery. And, a new wave of evictions will disproportionately harm communities of color.
