Reject Donald Trump’s budget that betrays communities combatting the opioid epidemic

President Donald Trump and ONDCP Acting Director Rich Baum

Drug abuse experts were shocked to learn last week that the Trump administration was planning to gut the White House office coordinating the fight against America’s opioid epidemic.

The proposed $364 million cut, or 95% of the $388 million budget of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), would eliminate two programs funneling federal money to local communities combatting the scourge of opioid trafficking and addiction.

Sign the petition demanding that Donald Trump not abandon people and communities struggling with the opioid epidemic to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.

Drug overdoses kill more than 50,000 Americans a year. It’s the leading cause of accidental death. More than three-fifths of those deaths are caused by opioids. The proposed $364 million cut, or 95% of the $388 million budget of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), would eliminate two programs funneling federal money to local communities combatting the scourge of opioid trafficking and addiction. Instead of giving trillions of dollars in tax cuts to millionaires, billionaires and wealthy corporations, use your upcoming budget to invest in families and communities battling the opioid epidemic.
