Sign this petition urging Senators Toomey and Casey to reject the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Gorsuch is a judicial extremist who believes in granting unelected judges more power to strike down federal regulations that protect workers, consumers, and the environment.

These are not normal times. While President Trump has the right to name a Supreme Court justice, it is imperative that he seek a consensus nominee, not someone who would take us back to a bygone era on women’s and LGBT rights, threaten important protections for clean air, clean water, workers, and safe food and medicine, and put Wall Street’s agenda of huge corporations and special interests ahead of the rest of us.    

Now more than ever, we need open-minded, fair, and independent judges who will stand up for our Constitutional values and protections and serve as a check on the politicians in the other branches—including the Trump administration—when they violate the law or the Constitution. We do not believe Judge Gorsuch has the independence to serve in that role.

If President Trump refuses to offer a consensus nominee who would secure strong, bipartisan support in the Senate, both Senators Toomey and Casey should reject judicial extremist Neil Gorsuch, who would do irreparable damage to our constitution for a generation to come.
