Release former DACA recipient Giovanni Rosales-Mendoza!

Assistant Field Director Sandra Marinelarena

Giovanni has called the United States his home since he was five. He grew up in a single parent home in Austin, TX with his mother and brothers. Giovanny grew up away from his father who lived in Mexico while he lived in Austin. In 2016, after learning his father was very ill, he decided to visit him in Mexico in fear of losing him without one last hug..

After witnessing a shooting in Acapulco, Giovanni and his family became concerned for his life. On January 3rd, Giovanni risked his life to reunite with his mother and brothers in the U.S. He was found under a bridge tied up in ropes and is now currently detained in Cibola Detention Center, a facility that was previously shut down but re-opened under the Trump Administration.

Giovanni has lived his entire life in Austin and belongs there with his community, his two brothers and his mother, who anxiously wait for him to walk through the door of their home and hug him again. Please sign this petition link and share widely so that we can stop his deportation!

We are asking you Assistant Field Director Sandra Marinelarena to use your prosecutorial discretion and allow Giovanni, who has been here since he was 5 years old and who had DACA, to fight his case in immigration court so that he can stay here with his family and in the only country he's ever known.
