Since Donald Trump’s inauguration, he has repeatedly bypassed the co-equal Legislative branch of our government and usurped many of the powers expressly reserved for Congress. He has taken numerous actions in violation of our Constitution and engaged in corruption and abuse of power unparalleled in U.S. history. These actions are leading to economic chaos, lost jobs, threats to our safety & security, increased healthcare costs, and withholding of grant funding promised to our communities. As another hurricane season approaches, we also fear that the federal government will not have our backs as FEMA is undermined and repeatedly denies requests for support from other communities.

Throughout this deeply troubling period, Representative Kat Cammack has been MIA from her district. She has refused to hold town halls and has not responded to repeated requests for meetings, despite promises by her staff and several “empty chair” town halls self-organized by her constituents.

Now, as Congress debates a so-called “big, beautiful” budget bill that would raise costs on lower- and middle-income Americans, deny critical services to our communities, and amplify economic inequality, WE DEMAND that Rep. Cammack return to her district to answer for her complicity in all of this. If Rep. Cammack continues to refuse accountability to her constituents, we pledge to commit our time and resources to her defeat and removal as our Representative.
