Rescind Steve Bannon's White House Appointment

Congress

Bannon

On November 14, President-Elect Donald Trump announced that he would appoint Stephen Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News, as his Chief Strategist in the White House. Bannon’s appointment is cause for outrage: under his guidance, Breitbart News has become a preeminent outlet for misinformation, xenophobia, racism, and misogyny online.

Although Trump asked his supporters to stop their aggressive behavior towards other U.S. residents, actions speak louder than words. Appointing Bannon to such a high position is a clear indication that Trump has no intention of backing up his words with action. If Donald Trump has any desire to make good on his words about reconciliation, this is not the way to do it.

Many of our representatives in Congress have spoken out about Bannon’s appointment, but it’s time for more of them, from both sides of the aisle, to send a clear message: a media mogul whose career has been built on stoking the flames of hatred against Black people, Muslims, Jews, women, LGBTQ people, and other groups has no place in a position of power in the White House. Make the call to encourage stiff resistance to this, and future, bigoted Trump appointments.

After you fill out the form, we'll give you a call, provide you with talking points, and talk you through the steps to talk to both your Senators and your Representative. It's easy and will take about five minutes!
