Restore funding to the CSU NOW!
California Legislature and Governor Newsom

California State University campuses are suffering devastating program and service cuts and a new round of layoffs if the CA legislature and Gov. Newsom approve the 7.95% budget cut. We are still in time to stop it by advocated for a budget revision, and reinvest our taxes where we need them the most: in our public education system, so all students in California have a chance to get a quality education.

We ask you to publicly advocate for a budget revision that reverses the proposed 7.95% budget CUT to the California State University budget and instead proposes at least a 5% INCREASE to the CSU base budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Our public university system that serves more than 450,000 students cannot absorb more cuts. Several campuses are already suffering devastating layoffs, program closures and service cuts. In addition we ask you to ensure the money is spent in the classroom and student services and the finances of the CSU (especially its investments and reserves) be closely watched or audited moving forward. Working people in California have the right to have quality public higher education, and also accountability and transparency from the CA legislature and the CSU Office of the Chancellor.
