Safe Roadway Crossings for Pittville

Gloucestershire County Council

We call on the Gloucestershire County Council to install zebra crossings for Wellington Road and Tommy Taylors Lane to ensure pedestrian safety and improve active travel access.

Green Party Candidate Daniel Wilson is calling on GCC to install pedestrian crossings at Tommy Taylors Lane and Wellington Road to ensure access to Pittville Park and ensure cycling and walking are safe and viable in Pittville.

Motorists frequently speed through these areas, and the continual traffic feels dangerous for residents on foot.

Young families, elderly people, those with limited mobility and sight, also all live in the area. They deserve safe crossings and investment into active travel options.

Pedestrians must be able to cross safely without having to take a chance between oncoming vehicles.

Crossings would keep people safe while also deterring speeding driving. It is a matter of urgent importance that safe crossings are installed.
