Salary steps for CSU workers NOW!

The CSU Presidents and Board of Trustees

CSU workers maintain critical student, faculty, and campus infrastructure. But 25 years ago, the CSU eliminated salary steps, our wages fell behind other state workers’ and we stopped moving through our set salary ranges.

CSU Skilled Trades workers have kept California’s largest public university system running through thick and thin: a pandemic, wildfires, torrential rain and more. What have we gotten in return?

  • On average, CSU workers make 18% less than the market median for their positions.
  • Many Long-time CSU Workers make less than or only pennies more than new hires.
  • CSU non-faculty staff are the only state workers without a salary step structure.

WE’RE READY TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO RESTORE STEP RAISES—INCLUDING STRIKE!

Please support all non-faculty staff at CSU by signing this support petition.

Do the right thing during negotiations with CSU worker Unions this year and restore the salary steps stripped from CSU workers 25 years ago!
