Your support is needed to save this urban ecosystem. Sunset Boulevard is one of the largest greenways in the city and is used by thousands every day for exercise and recreation. Unfortunately, due to historic drought and neglect, this greenspace is at risk.

Efforts have been underway to restore the boulevard, and hundreds of new trees and shrubs have been planted, but city funding is most urgently needed to bring recycled water to the boulevard and repair our sprinkler system.  The existing recycled water pipeline is within a few feet of the boulevard. All they need to do is hook it up. Unfortunately, our previous requests for funding for the West side have been denied by Mayor Breed in favor of projects downtown.

Sunset Boulevard has the potential to be an open and welcoming space for all San Franciscans.  Please join us and urge Mayor Breed to approve funding to accomplish these goals:

1.   Irrigate Sunset Boulevard by connecting the Boulevard's irrigation system to the existing gray water pipeline.

2.   Maintain the Boulevard so the residents can safely use and enjoy our green spaces.

Sunset Boulevard is an open and welcoming space for all San Franciscans. To save this urban ecosystem, your support is needed.

Please approve DPW's requests for funding to connect the Boulevard to the existing gray water pipeline, for all necessary repairs to the existing irrigation system, and for adequate gardener staffing (based on the algorithm used by the SF Recreation and Parks Department to calculate its staffing for Park Presidio Blvd.) to keep and maintain the Boulevard.
