Say No to Sham Ethics Oversight in the NYC City Council

NYC City Council

The NYC City Council routinely protects its members who do not reflect New York City's values. Serial harassers go unpunished, which only enables and emboldens bad behavior. Join me and take a stand against the Council's tepid self-policing behavior.

Time and again the Council is asked to police its own members. And time and again, New York City has seen just how broken this process is.

It is unacceptable to protect council members who have demeaned and harassed their employees, like Council Member Andy King, and avoid severe repercussions for their behavior. The Council must do better and protect workers while restoring the public’s faith in its ability to create a safe work environment.

The Council recently announced a third investigation into Council Member King's behavior mere months after the previous investigation. The latest round of allegations include: continued staff harassment, violations of conflicts of interest, and misappropriation of public funds.

That's why I'm demanding the Council do the right thing, and follow their conscience in March when the findings of the latest inquiry are released.

Enough is enough!
