The failure starts at the top: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have de-prioritized people during this crisis and focused on protecting and bailing out corporations and businesses. The people are getting left behind.
We demand that McConnell and Schumer do their jobs and lead their parties to create and support legislation that will get monthly payments to the people during this crisis.
They don't have to go far to find such legislation: many in Congress are on the side of the people, with legislation sitting in the House and Senate. H.R. 6496 and S. 3784 both outline $2000 per month to people for the duration of the crisis. The only thing stopping Congress from passing this legislation is their unwillingness to work across party lines and put partisan differences aside to take care of the people.
Meanwhile, millions are struggling to pay their bills and depending on food banks to feed their families.
Where is the leadership?

You are the leaders in Congress, but where is your leadership?
There is majority support throughout the people of America for monthly cash support of at least $2000 and it is clear that you understand the urgency for financial need when you deliver billions of dollars to the stock market and big business. If the market and big businesses are hurting, it is undoubtedly true that the people are too. We have rent, grocery costs to feed our families, bills, medical costs, car payments, gas tanks to fill, and household necessities and over 38 million people are unemployed. Millions of people are being left without any support, and the way the government is failing to help them demonstrates a failure of America as a country.
It is an utter disgrace that this country has done such a poor job to meet the needs of its people and lead us to solutions.
If the economy is to ever recover in a meaningful way, you must provide a solution that will help consumers feel confident and secure. You must provide financial stability to the People.
This is a health and economic crisis.
Wake up. End the infighting because this is not a partisan issue.
Your people from both the GOP and the Democratic Party depend on you.
