The death penalty is barbaric and wrong, and has been proven to not be a deterrent to violent crime. And it is also unfairly applied on racial and socioeconomic lines.

It has to go. We must repeal the death penalty in all 50 states, replacing punishment for the most violent crimes to be life without the possibility of parole.

Seven states have abolished the death penalty in the last decade, but 31 states still have capital punishment. We must repeal it entirely, as it has in most other Western nations.
