The Catholic Church has not always been progressive, but in his brief tenure Pope Francis has been a remarkable breath of fresh air with his calls to address climate change, income inequality and a refreshing tolerance of gays and atheists.

For simply speaking the truth, right-wing politicians in America (who always wish to push Jesus down our throats) have lashed out and condemned this pope. Republicans only like religious figures when they parrot conservative talking points, and they are beside themselves.
