Governors of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and South Carolina

Whatever its significance to some people, the Confederate flag signifies an era of slavery and oppression, and is a rallying symbol for white supremacists and those fearful of progress.

Displaying it on government issued license plates is unnecessarily divisive and hurtful.

Several states continue to offer license plates that bear the Confederate flag emblem even after a U.S. Supreme Court decision said it was permissible for states to deny them.

Sign if you agree:: Take the Confederate flag off state-issued license plates.
