Sign the petition: We need transparency around how Russia interfered in this election

President Obama

Senator Mazie Hirono and six of her Democratic colleagues have sent a letter to President Obama asking him to declassify any and all information pertaining to the Russian government’s involvement in the U.S. election. Six of the seven senators who signed this letter (including Hirono) are on the Senate Intelligence Committee, so this is a significant statement.

Earlier today, President Obama announced an investigation into Russia's interference. This is an important step, but the president has not committed to releasing the report's findings to the public.

The fact is that “intelligence” was continuously leaked during this past election season with reportedly nefarious intentions on the part of the Russian government. The American people should have a clear understanding of what influence Russia has had and if this has ramifications for the newly elected, Russian-“friendly” Donald Trump.
