Republicans are unpopular, their policies are even more unpopular, and demographic trends overwhelmingly favor Democrats. That's why Republican have launched a way on voting to keep themselves in power.

Restrictive voter ID laws overwhelmingly affect students, seniors, the poor and people of color, i.e groups that vote Democratic. It's nothing but a partisan ploy to disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.
