The for-profit corporate insurance industry is draining the profits from our business community and hampering wage growth across every sector of our economy. Today, companies that provide health insurance for their employees spend almost $7,000 for an individual plan and more than $20,000 for a family plan. These costs are unsustainable.

Medicare for All uncouples the link between employment and health insurance, freeing businesses from the financial and administrative burden of being in the heath insurance business. Under Medicare for All, the next generation of entrepreneurs and workers will have a safety net of health benefits that follows them from job to job. Medicare for All will allow businesses to compete fairly based on the quality and cost of their goods and services.

Passing HR.1384 will reduce health care costs and expand coverage to everyone - and provide a much-needed jumpstart to our economy. We urge you to support this legislation.
