Sign Now: It’s Time Billionaires Paid Their Fair Share

Members of Congress

The gap between the rich and the rest of us keeps getting wider and wider. For the first time in a century, the 400 wealthiest families in America are paying a lower tax rate than the working class. The rich are enjoying unprecedented levels of wealth while working families are struggling to keep up with the cost of living. It’s time we say, “Enough is enough!”

We need a fair tax system that creates an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) have introduced a Millionaires Surtax proposal that would begin to do just that. The Millionaires Surtax would increase taxes on the richest 0.2%. The other 99.8% of us won’t pay a cent more. This modest tax increase is estimated to raise $635 billion over 10 years that can be used to invest in critical services for working families.

We can’t sit by while income inequality continues to grow, and greed starves the critical social programs and services we depend on.

Sign to call on Congress to pass the Millionaires Surtax Act and begin to create an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

We need a fair tax system that creates an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

A good place to start is a Millionaires Surtax proposed by Senators Chris Van Hollen and Sherrod Brown and by Representative Don Beyer. This tax proposal is a crucial step towards balancing our economic playing field and ensuring that those who have prospered pay it forward to the country that made their wealth possible

We call on Congress to pass the Millionaires Surtax to raise $635 billion in additional revenue over 10 years and invest in critical services for working families.
