Sign now to tell Congress: Remove bigoted conspiracy theorist Fred Fleitz from the National Security Council.

U.S. Congress

Last year, activists successfully got Steve Bannon kicked off the National Security Council. Now it’s time to do the same with Islamophobic conspiracy theorist Fred Fleitz.

Trump’s recent pick for National Security Advisor, John Bolton, just appointed Fred Fleitz to serve as the National Security Council’s executive secretary and as Bolton’s chief of staff.

Fleitz was a senior VP at the Center for Security Policy (CSP), a right-wing Islamophobic think tank known for promoting extremist conspiracy theories that “have no basis in fact but do stoke a climate of fear and violence against American Muslims,”
according to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which has deemed it a hate group.

The Trump administration’s extreme Islamophobia has already threatened Muslim Americans’ lives and safety. Adding Fleitz to the inner circle that has Trump’s ear would be disastrous.

Sign the petition now to Congress: Act now to remove Fred Fleitz from the National Security Council. His dangerous fear-mongering should not influence U.S. policy.

While at the CSP, Fred Fleitz co-authored a report that argued that the government should deport American Muslims and strip them of their U.S. citizenship. The report also recommended that academic institutions be "discouraged" from promoting "interfaith dialogue" or "Muslim-Christian understanding.”

Fleitz told Breitbart last year that “there are some communities in the United States that have not assimilated. I’m not concerned about Amish or Jewish communities, but I will tell you that there are enclaves of Muslim communities in Michigan and Minnesota that concern me…. The problem with these Muslim communities is that it is making them susceptible to this radical worldview that wants to destroy modern society, create a global caliphate, and impose sharia law on everyone on Earth.”

And these aren’t the only conspiracies he’s peddling. Despite massive amounts of evidence, Fleitz has stated that Russia did not influence the 2016 U.S. election and has called on Trump to pardon everyone under investigation.

While at the Center for Security Policy, Fred Fleitz co-authored a report that argued that the government should deport American Muslims and strip them of their U.S. citizenship. This is unacceptable for a leader in the National Security Council. Already, the Trump administration’s extreme Islamophobia has threatened Muslim Americans’ lives and safety.

We demand that you pass legislation or take other action now to remove Fred Fleitz from the National Security Council immediately. Our country can’t allow a hateful, Islamophobic conspiracy theorist in the President’s inner circle of national security advisors.
