Dear Dallas leaders - Every 3 days a construction worker dies in the state of Texas. There are 280,346 construction workers who build our offices, schools, roadways, and new restaurants. Alarmingly, a study released last year found that there are over 60% of construction workers that do not receive basic OSHA-10 safety training. This is a basic safety standard that should be provided by their employer, yet too many workers continue to be injured on the job.

As residents of the city and county of Dallas, we are calling on elected leaders to protect the workers that are building our city and county by 1) requiring that workers receive 10 hours of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training for all construction workers on their projects and 2) require that safety supervisors receive 30 hours of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training for all construction projects.

Thank you for standing with the working families that live and work in Dallas.
