Gov. Pat McCrory

Our public school students deserve so much better than they are getting from Governor McCrory's administration. He's cut 3,000 teacher assistants while class sizes continue to grow. We're facing a textbook shortage. And North Carolina ranks 50th on the list of worst states for teachers.Help us by signing the petition today to ask Pat McCrory to prioritize public school classrooms, and stop taking North Carolina backwards!

Dear Gov. McCrory,

During your administration, North Carolina has earned the dubious ranking of 50th on the list of worst places to teach. Not only that, but North Carolina ranks 43rd in the amount of money we spend per student. Is this the North Carolina we want?

North Carolina has fewer teachers and more students, we face a significant textbook shortage, and we have thousands fewer teacher assistants. With nearly $800 million in surplus the last two years, you chose tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy over prioritizing public school students and school. We don't have time to waste: a generation of students is at risk.

Stop taking our state backwards--make public school education and North Carolina's students the priority they should be.
