At a bizarre White House meeting on February 28, Donald Trump came out in favor of several top gun control priorities like banning assault weapons & large capacity magazines. He even accused Republicans at the table of being "afraid of the NRA."

We have no idea how long Trump will stick to this position (he has flip-flopped in the past), and we do not endorse everything he suggested. But all we know is that his latest statements are driving his fans insane, and that's a good thing.

All we can do now is to use this moment to push for the kind of effective, common-sense gun safety measures that Republicans and the NRA have been blocking for years.

We need to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004, and ban large capacity magazines that serve no purpose besides killing people. Enough is enough.
