Sign the petition: Demand Congress act quickly to help Puerto Rico

Congress

Almost a week after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, 3.5 million Americans are without power, drinking water, food, medicine, or medical care — and Trump has done absolutely nothing to help.

In case Trump and the rest of our federal government forgot, Puerto Rico is part of the United States. Puerto Rican citizens can receive federal emergency funds and resources — just like Texas and Florida have — but any requests for search and rescue and humanitarian aid have gone unanswered.

It’s clear that Trump’s racism is impacting his refusal to take action to help people in Puerto Rico. It is unconscionable that any President would leave 3.5 million Americans in extremely dangerous conditions without any federal aid, but here we are — and Congress must step in.

Sign our petition now to demand Congress act quickly to help Puerto Rico. Congress must step in and take action to send search and rescue and humanitarian aid to Puerto Rico immediately.
