Sign the Petition: Demand Congress Use Its Power to Review Donald Trump’s Tax Returns

The Joint Committee on Taxation and the Chairmen of the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee

Citing a rarely used 1924 law, Representatives Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) and Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) are calling on their Republican colleagues to obtain and review the president’s tax returns.

The law states that either the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee, or the Joint Committee on Taxation, may request anyone’s tax returns―including the president’s.

The American people deserve to know whether President Trump has financial ties with Russia and how his businesses will benefit from policies he implements.

With serious questions being raised over the administration’s potential ties to Russia, such a review is critical―not just to eliminate potential conflicts of interest―but to ensure our national security.

Donald Trump continues to own hundreds of businesses that are being run by his sons, and the potential conflicts of interest are widespread. Now, given the serious concerns about Trump’s potential ties to Russia, it is critical that Congress obtain and review the president’s tax returns―both to eliminate potential conflicts of interest and to ensure our national security. Those tax returns should then be released to the public. We deserve to know.
