UPDATE (5/17/17): The Senate Intelligence Committee has requested that Comey testify publicly.

President Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey, after Comey had confirmed that the FBI was investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

This was the day after former acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that she had warned the Trump Administration about Russia's undue influence on Trump’s National Security Advisor.

Senator Ron Wyden has said that Comey must immediately be called to testify in an open hearing about the status of Trump-Russia investigation at the time of his firing.
