13 Democratic Senators

We are living a nightmare. The Republican Senate has voted to repeal Obamacare, and Donald Trump will be inaugurated President on January 20.

It is now more important than ever that Democrats stand up against the corporate kleptocracy and side with the people over the next four years.

But on January 11, thirteen Senate Democrats voted against an amendment that would have allowed for cheaper importation of prescription drugs from Canada.

This was not some hopeless measure that was never going to pass in a Republican Senate. It failed 46-52, because these 13 Senators sided with the pharmaceutical industry over their constituents and the vast majority of their Democratic colleagues.

Not coincidentally, the 13 Senators in question receive millions in donations from Big Pharma. As a result, they voted against a measure that has 72% support from the general public.

The 13 Democrats are Michael Bennet (Colorado), Bob Menendez & Cory Booker (New Jersey), Maria Cantwell & Patty Murray (Washington), Tom Carper & Chris Coons (Delaware), Bob Casey (Pennsylvania), Joe Donnelly (Indiana), Martin Heinrich (New Mexico), Heidi Heitkamp (North Dakota), Jon Tester (Montana) & Mark Warner (Virignia.)

Shame on you for putting the interests of Big Pharma ahead of the people by voting against importing affordable prescription drugs from Canada. We need Democrats to stand up to the corporate kleptocracy in the Donald Trump Era. I am angry that you voted this way.
