The Trump Administration plans to make devastating cuts to Food Stamps, and replace them with USDA "harvest boxes."
This “Harvest Box” wouldn’t include any fresh fruits or vegetables. It also doesn’t take people’s food allergies, requirements, or preferences into account.
This is cruel, demeaning and very short-sighted. A Trump Administration official was booed, laughed at and walked out when he met with the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference to explain this humiliating proposal.
"Harvest boxes" cannot become a reality. We must fight to protect Food Stamps, and demand absolutely no cuts. None.

I am outraged that Food Stamp cuts are being proposed, but am even more angry that the Trump Administration intends to force people to eat from canned foods (with no choice) - and then have the nerve to call them "harvest boxes."
