After Justice Scalia died, Senate Republicans refused to even consider any Supreme Court replacement that President Obama nominated. It was deeply disrespectful, and historically unprecedented.

If Donald Trump nominates a new replacement for this seat, Democrats must oppose him or her. Republicans stole the Supreme Court seat from President Obama, and they must not be rewarded for this theft.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that Senate Democrats would not likely support such a pick—which provoked a deeply hypocritical response from Mitch McConnell.
