Sign the petition: Respect the human right to migrate and end militarization at the border

Members of Congress

Since mid-October, groups of asylum seekers escaping violence and poverty have been traveling north from Central America through Mexico.

Instead of responding with compassion, President Trump has deployed thousands of troops, shot tear gas at children, and pursued policies to criminalize all who seek refuge.

People fleeing violence and poverty in Central America and elsewhere should be treated with humanity and compassion – not face family separation, military troops, or criminalization.

It’s time for Congress to stop funding cruelty against immigrants.

People fleeing violence and poverty in Central America and elsewhere should be treated with humanity and compassion – not face family separation, military troops, or criminalization.

As your constituent and someone who cares about human rights, I urge you to:

-Work for U.S. policies that respect the human rights to migrate and seek asylum.
-Oppose funding for a wall and other forms of militarizing border communities.
-Defund Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which have separated countless families, terrorized communities, and caused the deaths of people fleeing violence and poverty.

Diversity is a strength of our communities, and our immigration policies should reflect that.
