Sign the petition: Restore the voting rights of all citizens directly impacted by incarceration
U.S. State Legislatures
Over a million people gained their right to vote last year in Florida with the passing of Amendment 4. Millions of citizens nationwide had been barred from participating in the legislative processes that govern their lives because of past convictions they already served time for. Florida further catalyzed national momentum by ending that once and for all.
Voting is an essential aspect of citizenship within our democracy and those impacted by incarceration must have their voting rights restored. There are too many citizens working, paying taxes and positively contributing to their communities that have no voice in our democracy. Join us in the fight to ensure that all citizens have the right to vote.

The Right2Vote Campaign is a National Suffrage Movement to end the practice of felony disenfranchisement. Grassroots and national organizations are uniting across the country to fulfill the 10th demand of the National Prison strike to restore the voting rights of all confined citizens serving prison sentences, pretrial detainees, and so-called “ex-felons.”
We are working to ensure all voices are represented and count. In order to fully restore the desperate conditions of America’s prisons, prisoners must have a voice for which prison officials and decision-makers are held accountable.

Restoring the right to vote would improve public safety for all. It would allow citizens impacted by incarceration to feel connected to their community and decrease recidivism. People incarcerated and on parole would be able to contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.
We must end the draconian system of felony disenfranchisement established during the Jim Crow era once and for all.
Directly impacted individuals include formerly incarcerated people on probation or parole, those who have completed their sentence and community custody supervision, and those still serving their sentences in prison, jail, or detention facilities.
