Sign your name: Designate the African Lion as an Endangered Species and prevent trophy hunting

US Fish and Wildlife Department

The African lion population has decreased by more than 50% in the last three decades and today scientists are sending dire warnings that the African lion could be completely extinct by the year 2050. It's nearly unthinkable these majestic creatures could be wiped off the planet in the near future and that is why we have to give them the strongest protections available. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Department is currently considering a proposal to change the status of the African lion from "threatened" to "endangered." This designation would protect lions like Cecil, by outlawing most "trophy hunting" and would provide stiff penalties for offenders.

Time is running out for the African lion and we have to protect them. Sign the petition and tell U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service director Dan Ashe you support his efforts to protect the African lion....before it's too late.
