Are you a small business owner or self-employed? Tell Congress to support additional direct cash payments to all or most Americans.

US Congress

You know better than anyone that small businesses need more support to survive the current economic and health crises. Loans and grants, and the first $1,200 check, may have helped some businesses, but they weren't enough. Further shutdowns are looming. Unemployment benefits are running out for employees. We need more help from Congress, and we need it now.

Business owners and freelancers need flexibility. Employees need support. Local economies need a jump-start. Sign our open letter to Congress calling for additional, recurring direct cash payments until the economy recovers:

Dear Senator/Representative,

COVID-19 continues to devastate small businesses. While efforts to support small businesses through loans and grants have provided some relief to some business owners, it wasn’t enough, and many of us are unable to get the help we need. We as business owners need flexibility. Our employees need support.

That’s why we’re calling for direct cash payments until the economy recovers.

Cash is the most practical support for small business owners facing unforeseen challenges and an unknown future. It’s no wonder that 80% of small business owners approve of cash.

Cash can help:

-- Keep business owners, our families, and our employees afloat when we’re not earning income. Many small business owners don’t have a cushion, and unemployment benefits have run out. Direct cash payments enable us to pay our bills and take care of our families while our businesses are shut down or operating at reduced capacities.

-- Maintain our business with reduced revenue because of capacity limits or shutdown. If our federal grants or loans were insufficient, nonexistent or have simply now been spent -- cash provides funds to do what we need to adjust to a changing landscape.

-- Ensure our staff has the means to cover their basic needs during unexpected lapses in employment when isolation must happen because of positive COVID tests in the workplace.

-- Boost the local economy and speed recovery. Small business spending -- whether paying employees or rent -- goes right into the local economy, strengthening the local community and helping everyone recover faster.

Please fight for recurring direct cash payments to all or most Americans.
