Stand with Bernie Sanders: Become a co-signer of the Corporate Tax Dodging Prevention Act

Congress

Donald Trump is drafting a tax plan that will give massive tax breaks to America’s wealthiest corporations that shift American jobs and profits offshore.

But Senator Sanders has introduced legislation to counter Trump’s disastrous plan.

The Corporate Tax Dodging Prevention Act would make corporations pay the full $750 billion that they owe on their $2.6 trillion in offshore profits. And, it would end the giant tax loophole that lets corporations defer paying U.S. taxes on their offshore profits―raising another $1 trillion in new revenue over the next decade.

Instead of Trump’s plans that would offshore more jobs and profits, let’s demand corporations pay what they owe. When they do we’ll be able to make massive investments here at home.

You can’t be an American company only when it benefits you. You also have to be an American company when it comes to paying your fair share of taxes. Unfortunately, many wealthy corporations take advantage of tax loopholes that allows them to hold untaxed profits offshore indefinitely. We call on you to support the Corporate Tax Dodging Prevention Act, which would close offshore tax loopholes and make U.S. corporations pay the full 35% tax rate on the $2.6 trillion in profits they have stashed offshore, most of which are in tax havens. When wealthy corporations pay what they owe, it will make the tax system fairer for individuals and small businesses and allow us to invest in critical services here at home.
